| Adverse Drug Reactions in Residential Care - A Pilot Study
<< BACK
(FEBRUARY , 2006)
Studying Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) in the elderly is a priority for CHAP this year. In order to better understand ADRs in residential care, we embarked on a pilot study with the following objectives: first to understand the extent of under reporting of adverse drug events in residential care and second, to gain insight on adverse drug reactions in drugs prescribed in long-term care.
With the assistance of Physician Leader Dr. Ken Tekano, we recruited four physicians and a nurse practitioner that work in our Providence Health Care residential facilities to participate in the study.
